Thieme Publishing Company is an international medical and science publisher serving health professionals and students. It promotes the latest advancements in clinical practice, publishing the latest research findings and advancing medical education.

Thieme Publishers first learned about SIGN when Dr. Zirkle approached staff at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in early March. Dr. Zirkle was impressed by the newly published Surgical Treatment of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and spoke to Ross Lumpkin, Thieme’s Sales Director, about the book. Inspired by Dr. Zirkle’s decades long commitment to humanitarian work and impressed by SIGN’s efforts to train and support surgeons around the world, Thieme donated copies of the trauma book to the organization for distribution to its many programs worldwide.
